Different Types Of Pilates Machines
Pilates Machines is a very broad term and they are usually grouped into two different categories. There are the smaller machines, which includes the ones that can be portable. The other group is for the larger machines which are usually not portable but bigger and harder to move. The price of any of these machines can vary depending on popularity, brand names and the size. The following talks about different machines, small, large and portable and what they are best used for.
Some of the small, and sometimes portable, Pilates Machines include the pilates ladder barrel, pilates chair and the pilates spine corrector. The pilates ladder can be used many different ways but is mainly used for flex and extension exercises for the back. The pilates chair is an original to pilates and can be used for multiple different exercises to strengthen the core muscles. The spine corrector is very self explanatory and is very helpful in correcting alignment of the spine. Although the spine corrector is not very well known it is small enough that it could be used in the home.
The Pilates Machines that are larger and stay in one place include the pilates reformer, pilates tower and the pilates cadillac. The pilates reformer is a classic pilates piece of equipment and is used to develop good alignment, flexibility and strengthening of the core. The pilates tower is commonly used with and attached to the reformer. If it is not attached to the reformer it can be attached to the wall.

Finally, the cadillac has its name because it is the best of the best in Pilates Machines and anybody would be excited to use it. Usually this machine can not be used at home or even at a pilates studio but is used in private pilates sessions. The cadillac is used to help with core strength, stability and control and is sometimes described as a modification of the reformer. The cadillac consists of a padded bench with bars above it as well as straps to put your feet in. Pilates can be very challenging to do but very rewarding and these machines can help to make the exercises more fun to do. |
